Col (Dr) Madhav Madhusudan Singh is a teacher, mentor, researcher and hospital administrator, who has been pivotal in defining the role of the healthcare administrator in the delivery of quality healthcare in the nation. He completed his medical graduation from AFMC, Pune and Post graduation in Hospital Administration from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. Presently as the Commanding officer, a Military Hospital, Meerut Min of Defence. He was faculty in Dept of Hospital Administration, Army Hospital ( R & R), New Delhi. He has been energetic as an author, research guide and in providing enabling platforms for debates and deliberations as well as organizing conferences that bring together experts of national and international repute in health administration. He has been actively involved in various national and state level committees on healthcare activities. He has more than 22 years of distinguished academic and healthcare management experiences encompassing the entire spectrum of primary to tertiary healthcare. As a member of the core Strategy team, focussed on aligning the organizational interests by exploring the profitable return on investment opportunities, expansions/acquisitions. Experienced in researching, conceptualizing and designing new healthcare solutions/products to gain a competitive advantage in the healthcare market, followed by an analysis of their financial and operational viability Specializing in the formulation of business proposals, establishing liason & coordination with various stakeholders for smooth implementation & optimal utilization of healthcare projects. Particularly interested in working on innovative healthcare models for increasing access & affordability. He is also involved quality control of armed forces hospital. He is secretary of Research Foundation of Hospital and Healthcare Administration which was initiative of dept of hospital administration AIIMS. He is NABH assessor and JCI internal auditor.He is framing SOPs and policy for the healthcare industry for all processes and procedures under umbrella of One India One Policy initiative of RFHHA.
He introduced the use of social media for healthcare education to grassroots level for the first time in India since 2013. The use of WhatsApp, Facebook and LinkedIn education platform were selected and all the doctors of PHC, CHC, District hospital, and all hospital administrators of Pvt and public healthcare setup were interconnected on one platform. The weekly online panel discussion, Daily online education of patient safety and quality in healthcare was started which went viral in a short time.
Today, more than 17500 hospital administrators are connected on the social media platform of RFHHA and imparting knowledge on healthcare administration and solving their problems in healthcare as and when required. Sometime during the crisis and during an internal disaster in hospitals.
Hard work is not easy always
When he started interacting with healthcare worker and leaders, he found an unexpected hurdle about non availability of trained worker and lack of facilities. He started delivering lectures and started posting the basic concept of best practices in hospital administration on patient safety, quality, healthcare infrastructure. Slowly the healthcare worker and administrated connecting on the platform of RFHHA and acquiring good practices across the Indian subcontinent.
“Things happen and result started coming in the form of improvement and satisfaction, from one member to 17500 hospital administrators including nursing leaders came on one platform,” says Dr.M M Singh.
Honors and Distinctions
He was awarded various medal by the army on various occasion OP VIJAY ( Kargil), OP RAKSHAK, SSM with Clasp J & K, 09 Yrs Long Service Medal, SSM with Clasp Bengal & Assam and 20 Yrs Long Service Medal.
He was also awarded by Army chief COAS Commendation and by Vice Chief VCOAS Commendation and army cdrGOC-in- C SWC Commendation on various occasion for his exemplary work.
He also won prestigious Maj Gen L J Lately Oration in the year 2017. He was also awarded Best Hospital Administrator of the Year 2017 in a national function.
