MEET SAHYADRI HOSPITALS

Sahyadri Hospitals is Maharashtra's largest chain of hospitals, conceptualized by leading neurosurgeon Dr Charudutt Apte. From day one, Sahyadri Hospitals has strived to make healthcare available, accessible, and accountable to the community at large - keeping the ‘patient’ at the focus. Indeed, it was the trust of its patients that eventually led to this chain of speciality hospitals that feature the finest of infrastructure, technology, medical team, patient care and above all, an emotional bond that binds every member of the team with its patients and their families deeply and lastingly.

A COMMITMENT GROWING ACROSS BOUNDARIES

Today, Sahyadri Hospitals is the largest chain of hospitals in Maharashtra operating on the philosophy of turning quality healthcare truly Available, Accessible & Accountable. The organization has grown at a steady clip, and currently operates 8 hospitals, 900 beds, 2000 clinicians and 2600 supporting staff, having touched over 50 Lacs lives.

The Group’s commitment to making quality health care services available across demographic groups is evident at every point of the value delivery chain. With 1 Quaternary care, 4 Tertiary care and 3 Secondary healthcare facilities, Sahyadri Hospitals is truly an accessible window for all sections of society when it comes to care and cure that is truly world class.

Each hospital in the Chain is equipped with a comprehensive and advanced suite of critical care infrastructure, including round the clock availability of Trained Critical care experts, along with a back-up of Tertiary healthcare services. In Pune, the Group’s strength lies in our deep rooted network of hospitals in the city, ensuring the team is never more than 15 minutes away from its patrons and patients.

GENESIS AND JOURNEY

Reflecting on the origin and progression of what has been a journey full of milestones,  Dr Charudutt Apte, Chairman, Sahyadri Hospitals says, “Sahyadri is certainly a dream that has transformed into reality. The idea started with a humble beginning as a small neurosciences unit in 1994 at a rented place. But with encouraging response from the people and medical community, the idea of serving people with various specialties under one roof was born and became a reality in 2004 with our first speciality unit at Deccan, Pune. Sahyadri Hospitals has never looked back since. Despite our fast evolution, our core hasn’t changed : We continue to provide accountable services which meet high quality standards by adopting stringent & accredited quality standards.”

CONNECT WITH PEOPLE

SERVICING THE HAVE-NOTS

In sync with its vision to make healthcare accessible, accountable and available for all, Sahyadri Hospitals has always tried to reach out till the last mile. In order to help the underprivileged, the Group has been in the forefront of participating in Government Schemes like MJPJAY at Karad, Nashik and Surya Sahyadri Units. The Surya Sahyadri Hospital Unit was conceived solely for the purpose of helping needy patients from vulnerable background get quality medical care. Sahyadri Hospitals’ deep connect with NGOs and society at large has ensured many sustainable initiatives especially for the underprivileged. Recently a state-of-the-art free dialysis center was launched by collaborating with Rotary Club of Pune Central (Rotary Dist.3131) at Surya Sahyadri Hospital which is proving extremely helpful for kidney failure patients. The aim is to launch a free radiation center in Pune soon to ensure continuity of services for Cancer patients.

CARING FOR KIDS

Sahyadri Hospitals has also undertaken an important initiative for kids. It has recently launched ‘Mission Prerana’ in association with Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Cell and Rotary International under the aegis of ‘Mission Muskaan’. Under this ground-breaking initiative, Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital, Nagar Road, has been transformed into a dedicated Paediatric Tertiary Care Unit, which has been beneficial to many underprivileged children. Many of these children who were suffering from end stage liver disease and needed transplant have got a new lease of life.

DURING COVID

The pandemic has pushed the team to new levels of courage and resourcefulness. The group partnered with local and social organisations for operationalizing COVID Care Centers at a time when the medical infrastructure in the state has been overwhelmed. During the lock down last year when the number of cases were going through a spike, Sahyadri Hospitals offered home wellness packages for asymptomatic COVID patients or those with mild symptoms . This ensured lesser strain on the hospital and more beds for those with severe symptoms. True to its core value of being patient-centric in every way, the Group’s Lab offered Home Collection of samples and home delivery of medicines, which made things much easier for all those affected.

ON THE i-WAY : DIGITAL DIVERSIFICATIONS

Keeping in mind the information consumption patterns of the young generation, Sahyadri Hospitals has gone digital and online to educate people on the criticality of wellness, different forms of ailments, debunking various myths and promoting a culture of preventive healthcare and well-being. Endeavours in this area includes blogs from various specialists, you tube videos and other social media outreach tools and platforms. Sahyadri Hospitals has also been effectively leveraging the power and reach of virtual platforms to organize ‘online clinics’ which has been a boon to many especially during the pandemic. The ‘Online Second Opinion Clinic’ for super specialties is a unique initiative which is gaining traction as patients can avail expert advice from the comfort of their home. These have  helped doctors and patients to maintain communication and follow up seamlessly, even during times of disruption and stress.
