A new project was initiated at the beginning of the year 2019 to develop an Indian Oxygen Concentrator, which was successfully implemented. Efforts from our strong R&D team professionals along with strong technical and clinical validations, we came up with a world-class product which beats our expectations and experience of more than a decade in this field. Our product was commercially launched in January 2021, and its technology is licensed to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in order to enable the high volume production of medical devices in India. With this initiative, we are aiming to resolve the oxygen supply problem of the country during the pandemic.
RISING TO THE COVID CHALLENGE
As COVID-19 cases in India dramatically spiked during the first and second waves, many of the COVID care centres and healthcare institutions in India ran out of oxygen supplies and beds. The problem was noted during the peak of the first wave in September 2020, and then on a much larger scale during the peak of the second wave, in April and May 2021. The situation prompted the leadership to undertake an initiative of - “Solving India’s oxygen problem in the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic” to provide high quality, affordable oxygen concentrators.
