“I have been associated with the medical device industry from past 25 years and have gained rich experience in varied challenging roles and currently heading the Indian subcontinent business for Sonosite, a US based subsidiary of Fujifilm Company since September 2015.
Fujifilm Sonosite is the world leader in point of care ultrasound having more than a decade of direct presence in India. Sonosite’s product family has significantly expanded over these years to include a wide range of powerful point-of-care ultrasound solutions enhancing quality of care, patient safety, cost reduction, efficiency, and patient satisfaction. The company has a solution to fit every ultrasound need in any point-of-care clinical environment.”

“Employee empowerment & customer centricity are the two key success factors in all my actions and decision making. Since beginning I always wanted to serve in the healthcare space as it resonates with my zeal for purpose driven ethical performance. This shaped up my career well in medical diagnostic imaging during my early professional years. Being honest to customers, think differently and be a solution provider to team are the few prime focus areas in my routine professional interactions.”

“Since ages accessibility to quality medical care has remained a challenge in our country. I got to experience this during my first year of graduation when I lost my father due to cardiac issues. That’s when I started to think deeply on how I can contribute in solving this or be worthy to the society, which resulted in my first endeavour in healthcare sector & from there the journey started!”
What are some of the biggest cross-hairs on Nitin’s horizon? What are the big challenges he plans to solve with his team of experts?
“Currently we are working towards creating awareness around the utility of Point of care ultrasound and wish if every clinician can adopt this imaging tool efficiently to diagnose patients or to alleviate their pain via performing guided procedures. We imagine a world without barriers, empowering clinicians with immediate answers for any patient, anywhere, anytime”, answers the idea champion, with steely conviction in his tone.
Nitin is overseeing a big shift in the point-of-care Ultrasound landscape of the country. He elaborates :
“Our training workshops, Sonosite Institute – dedicated website for our end users, and SonoAccess app – no cost Ultrasound app, go above and beyond anything in the industry.
Till date we have touched more than sixty thousand clinicians with our educational endeavours across India and subcontinent region.
This non-invasive, non-ionizing, head to toe imaging modality has capability to do wonders & save many more precious lives. The medical challenges we face require nothing less than our very best, our most innovative and imaginative solutions. Sonosite POCUS initiatives are at the front lines of today’s most pressing medical issues. As COVID-19 continues to overwhelm our healthcare systems, Sonosite solutions are a trusted tool in performing accurate lung and cardiac imaging in patients.
