EXPERT ‘TAKEAWAYS’

Leading minds at the event lent their expertise and knowledge on a multitude of topics in hepatic health and wellbeing. Emphasising the growing need for a healthier and stress-free lifestyle would greatly help in enhancing the effects for already existing liver care brought about by the emerging advances in Hepatitis Treatment. Novel treatments such as ‘Liver Dialysis’ machines are being developed and tested for facilitating better and more effective cure for liver toxicity.

Lifestyle-related liver diseases such as NASH are a lot more common in India than non-lifestyle related diseases such as viral hepatitis. Thus maintaining a good diet and an active lifestyle are very important. Taking care of hygiene, eating healthy food, doing regular physical activity, avoiding unnecessary over the counter medications, ensuring proper sleep quality and living a stress-free lifestyle, along with taking care of any other health complications are important for ensuring good Liver Health.

Summarising all, a strong urgency for:

1.    Avoiding self-prescribed and over-the-counter medications was emphasised. As well as many latest interventions in the space of Hepatitis treatment were shared.

2.    Eliminating liver harmful substances such as Alcohol, Saturated Fats, Smoking and Processed Sugars from the diet was strongly recommended. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle with adequate sleep and focus on regular cardiovascular and strength exercises are non-negotiable for good liver health and long life.
