NASSCOM Center of Excellence for the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence (a joint initiative by MeitY, ERNET and NASSCOM) and VOICE OF HEALTHCARE (voiceofhealthcare.org – a nodal think tank for policy advocacy, idea mobilization & sustainable advancement in healthcare) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU is a reflection of the conviction that collaboration in technology adoption for affordable and accessible healthcare can have a significant impact on the Indian Healthcare industry. As a program for innovation and digital transformation (with particular focus in emerging trends like AI, ML, IoT, Big Data, Analytics, AR/VR and Robotics), NASSCOM COE (Centre of Excellence) is on a mission to create a pan-national culture of co-creation across the industry. VOH leverages its dynamic platforms to bring corporates, institutes and individuals under a single roof to address a kaleidoscopic swathe of burning issues in the global healthcare terrain, and leverages shared learning to innovate and grow together.
In the context of the current covid-19 crisis, the coming together of these two bodies – Each of who commands deep mobilization influence within its respective specialization domains - augurs good news for India.
Amongst the areas covered under the MoU are Policy Advocacy Initiatives, Digital Adoption by Healthcare Industry, Thought Leadership, Knowledge Sharing & Training, Universal Healthcare, Tech-Enabled Innovation and Building a Digital Solution to manage COVID19.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naveen Nishchal, Chairman, VOH, said, “Synergy can create much-needed breakthroughs in the nation’s quest for robust and sustainable fightback roadmaps against Covid19, and even after that. I hope this MoU between VOH and Nasscom COE marks an important step in healthcare’s journey towards a more socially inclusive and digitally proactive future.
Sharing his mind on the ramifications of the MoU, Sanjeev Malhotra, CEO, NASSCOM Center of Excellence, said,
“NASSCOM CoE believes in the potential of open innovation and has relied on the strength of collaborations to bring out the best solutions. By signing this MoU with VoH, we will extend our collective capabilities to deliver high impact results, and augment the digital healthcare ecosystem.”
Airing his personal perspective on the development, Raghuram Janapareddy, Director, Healthcare & Life-sciences, NASSCOM CoE, said, “The engagement with VoH adds an interesting dimension to NASSCOM’s ongoing digital transformation efforts. The ability of VoH to enable Real World Evidence (RWE) data for Research Opportunities complements the digital innovations in the diagnostics. Now we can look at focused solution validation for emerging solutions in specialized areas, especially in pandemic scenarios like COVID19.”
