India´s first Integrated Diagnostics Facility by Mahajan Imaging & Labs completes one year

Inaugurated by the Vice President last year and located in India’s National Capital Region, Mahajan Imaging & Labs’ unique integrated diagnostic Centre of Excellence focusses on precision & predictive medicine, and marks the organization’s foray into Lab medicine and Pathology services. It facilitates personalised medicine with medical imaging, lab medicine, genomics and translational research and an AI start-up - all under one roof. 

With a view to be future ready, Mahajan Imaging and Labs - India´s leading chain of high-end medical imaging - forayed into precision and personalised medicine last year by launching an integrated centre of excellence in diagnostics in Safdarjung Development Area, New Delhi. The new centre combines state of the art technology in medical imaging, a full-fledged pathology & genomics lab, an R&D department along with an AI startup.

In his speech, the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu - who inaugurated the milestone launch in April  2022 -  emphasised on the need for early diagnosis through screening programmes and preventive health checks at a population level. He further remarked on the role of Public Private Partnership and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in providing access to high quality affordable diagnostics across India.

Truly cutting-edge 

The new centre consists of with 3 MRI scanners, Dual Energy Spectral CT, Digital PET CT, Dual Head Gamma Camera, radionuclide therapy with Lutetium, Full Field Digital Mammography with 3DTomosynthesis, 3D / 4D Ultrasounds, Cone Beam Dental CT, DEXA bone densitometry, Non-invasive cardiac lab, Digital fluoroscopy, and radiography. Mahajan Imaging and Labs has also set up a full-fledged pathology lab with cyto and histopathology, molecular diagnostics along with a Genomics lab with Next Generation Sequencers. This is the only private laboratory in North India be accredited for genome sequencing of Covid-19 samples.

Experts from the field of preventive health and predictive medicine have said that the new field of ¨Integrated Diagnostics¨, supported by AI at the backend would put India at the forefront in the emerging science of predictive and precision medicine. In addition, Mahajan Imaging and Labs will do interventional procedures, preventive health checks and plans to start teaching, training, and up-skilling radiologists and technologists with fellowship courses. Using its AI & translational research capabilities the company has already helped global companies develop and launch products for medical imaging.
