Pfizer India Creates New Record in Pneumococcal Vaccine Awareness Drive

June 12, 2023: Pfizer India broke new ground by creating an ‘India record’ for the maximum number of doctors Pledging to Spread awareness on pneumococcal vaccine for comprehensive disease protection. 
 
A total of 3374 doctors participated and signed a digital pledge on a portal to support and spread awareness about Pneumococcal Vaccines. 
 
The Campaign was launched during the World Immunization Week and ran from April 24, 2023 to May 5, 2023. 
 
Pneumococcal infections can range from ear and sinus infections to pneumonia and bloodstream infections. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about a million children succumb to this disease annually, with more than 300,000 being under 5 years of age.
 
The feat of excellence was acknowledged as the most deserving contender by India Book of Records, a corpus that functions in sync with International Protocol for Records (IPR) to identify, honour and preserve evidence of records for future reference. India Book of Records is registered with the Government of India.
