3rd June 2021: The veteran leader braces to trigger new journeys of growth and impact by amplifying patient-centric approaches and stakeholder collaborations in the regions under his charge.
Omar Sherief Mohammad has scaled a new high in his dynamic career by being appointed Head (India, Middle East and Africa - IMEA) within the Mumbai based Roche Diabetes Care (RDC) Global Commercial Organisation. Mr. Mohammad will now be leading Roche’s efforts in building a patient-first approach to take on the challenge of diabetes in the IMEA region. Mr. Mohammad will also be the General Manager for the organization in India. He has been General Manager RDC India since September 2019. Prior to joining Roche, Mr. Mohammad was the VP and GM of Novo Nordisk, Vietnam and other Southeast Asia emerging markets.
A statement from the company stated that in his new capacity, Omar Sherief Mohammad’s mandates will straddle areas like shaping and implementing go-to-market roadmaps, setting the strategic direction for IMEA in sync with the Global Commercial Organisation as well as the broader RDC strategy.That apart, Mr. Sherief will have direct oversight of IMEA, with the RDC General Managers / Country Heads of these markets reporting directly to him.
Marking the milestone moment, Mr. Sherief spoke to Voice of Healthcare saying, “Being in diabetes care for more than 15 years, what I value the most is access to care initiatives which support the underprivileged section of the community by creating a holistic ecosystem for screening, awareness and education programs. The very challenging thought of bending the curve of diabetes in terms of prevalence and adding value by bringing true relief for people with diabetes is what keeps me motivated.”
Mr. Omar Sherief Mohammad possesses two decades of mission critical experience in the pharmaceutical sector, with particular focus in diabetes care, in India – along with global marketing in Denmark and emerging Asian markets
