Philips, a health technology company, has announced a partnership with Star Imaging, a diagnostic laboratory based in Pune, to establish an MRI training school in India. The program's curriculum is designed to offer international-standard training for radiologists in MRI technologies across 17 sub-specialties. This two-week residential course provides advanced theoretical knowledge and practical training, focusing on organ-based sub-specialty reporting and hands-on experience. It includes application training, clinical case study discussions, scanning, and workflow observation across multiple anatomical areas such as the head and neck, musculoskeletal system, body, and neuroimaging.
Brajesh Singh, Imaging Leader for Philips in the Indian Subcontinent, commented, “Through this initiative, we aim to enhance clinicians' skills in organ-based reporting, ensuring accurate diagnoses and improved patient outcomes. With the Indian healthcare market moving towards super-specialisation due to the high disease burden, this program will enable clinicians to maximize the potential of available technology.”
Dr. Ashish Atre, Chief Radiologist at Star Imaging and Research Center, added, “The program aims to cover every MR specialty in depth, providing new perspectives and discussing clinical-radiological correlations.”
